We need to be connected to our being in order to be humans. We are spiritual beings, having a human experience in our bodies.
We have been living in our heads and ego, pretending to be separate from others and the world we live in. It’s impossible to be in the ego’s mind and feel or express love in any form, to feel empathy for anyone or anything.
There is no escaping depression and anxiety without our biological chains of family for very long.
Our heart is where we find the answers to any questions we may have.
Here are some guidelines in finding balance for your experience of life for the rest of this year:
Spiritual Our spirit is what we stem from as a person and as an individual. It’s what make us unique. Being connected with it, is what makes us human. Our love and empathy for an other human and people in general, can tell us our level of connection that we have with ourselves.
If we can see the beauty in the next person we see or the next living thing, we are in a place of love and connected with our spirit.
The practice of spirituality is what leads us to understanding who we are and our purpose in life. It connects us to every living thing throughout the universe. The more connected we are to our spiritual being is the less we see separation from others and the life we want to create. Places, people and things have no boundaries for us.
That know sense within us is our faith. When our faith is present, doubt is far away.
Health We have physical, mental and spiritual health as a human being. In my opinion and experience, health takes priority over everything in a human body and life. Everything that concerns us, starts and ends in health.
Personal Growth Most of us are not living. If our home, job, possessions and religion and the children and partner are our main objectives in our lives, then we are only existing.
Gaining understanding for the natural world we live in and the different people places, things and experiences within the outer world is a part of growing. Reading books on subjects of interest to us is the beginning of personal. Doing new things and having new experiences is growing and it’s mind expanding.
Fun and Recreational Goals Sports, travelling, singing, dancing, painting, drawing, writing, gardening, making and designing things with our hands because we love it, is recreational. Doing these things is also called creativity. They give us a sense of individuality. They were the things we did as a child, they were the things we dreamt of doing, read books on, practiced, they were our gifts they were our world away from others, they gave of joy, they expanded our imaginations.
These are the things we do as adults to centre ourselves in a busy world and gives us the sense of purpose, refreshing our minds to achieve our bigger objectives and gives life more purpose.
Relationships Mammals have a need to relate in their individual groups. It’s a psychological part of our make up. Depression and anxiety is a side effect of not having healthy, strong and lasting relationships, in an individual.
The more technology develops, the wider the gap of relationships grow and the more widespread depression and anxiety spreads within families, communities and countries.
The more aware we are of our own personal growth, the higher our score will be on the relationships scale and the less likely that we are to be severally affected by depression and anxiety. The act of speaking with people every day is not a void of depression or anxiety. Being able to relate with at least one person, on any subject that the mind thinks of, is an important and crucial relationship to have today.
Family These are the biologically related group that we are from and can be the group of people we grew up with. This is our first community that we belong to and should hold our strongest bond. The loosening and breakage of this bond will most definitely create depression and anxiety in all individuals. This is a subconscious link that forms personalities in every human and even being apart from this group from very a very young age, does not separate the link. The more someone feels that they do not belong to any social, professional or family group, is the more severe that individual will be affected by depression and anxiety.
Career and Business This is obvious for most people, an area of financial income. This should be of an area of interest that can be done without strain or stress on a person’s values and enjoyment. If enjoyed, it will not feel like work and should contribute to our personal growth. The opportunity will show up when one is aligned with their values and goals. Anything else will drain one’s physical and mental energies. Hard work does not mean stressful. When it stops being a learning process that stretches our comfort zone, it is time for change.
When one finds themselves in leadership positions that they often do without much focus for most job experiences, it is time to start a business in the area they see themselves offering more value to others than they can in a job.
Money This is a topic less discussed or taught in the correct manner. Money is energy and it is aligned with everyone based on their internal beliefs around the topic. If one sees it as lacking that is how it flows for them and if one sees it as abundant, that is how it flows in one’s life until there is a mind shift around it.
It is an important part of life and there is enough for the seven billion plus individuals on earth to be a millionaire all at the same time. The opportunities are available to everyone if they are open to the possibility of having it.
The Robert Kiyosaki board game is one of the best references when it comes to learning about personal and business finances. The foundation starts with “Rich Dad Poor Dad” book, it is also available in a comics form for children. The board game is also available online and free to join and play with participants from anywhere online.

From the goals listed above, on the scale of 1 to 10 for each, what is your score?
From 8 to 10 is the ideal purposeful and happy life
From 5 to 7 is good and a place of more ease.
From 3 to 4 means we are aware of these areas on the scale where the search for meaning is the quest.
From 0 to 2 is poor and in need of focus and assistance. Isolation, loss and illnesses becomes the highlight of life.
Awareness is key in self development. Once aware, improvement habits take over and progress is made effortlessly.
Holding pictures in the mind, of an end goal with actions towards that picture creates desired outcome when unwavering trust is applied.
We would have less stressful lives today if we score from 5 to 7 and upward.

I am 36 years old and have been affected by mental health illness since I was 28 years old. I was diagnosed with post traumatic stress disorder with depression and anxiety and other physical complaints. I have experienced physical and mental traumas since I was 4 years old up until I was 29 after my marriage. When I started getting medications and therapies in 2009 as a treatment for this, I was told by doctors that my mind have given up as a protective mechanism, I will not be able to lead a normal life without constant assistance again. I was not able to remember most details of my previous life, including my wedding day in 2009.
I was not able to accept those conclusions to be the rest of my life and decided to test the theories when I was better able to, in 2012 after one year of cognitive behavioral therapy and other treatments. I registered as a disabled student at the Open University to study online and finish my BSc in computers that I had started in 2002. After my first assessment with my tutor, he concluded that I did not need as much assistance as I was assigned. After one year of study I decided that I was not enjoying my course as I previously did even though my work was exceptional for my diagnosis.
I visited Jamaica in 2013 for two weeks and reconnected with family there, eating only locally grown food from the island. To my shock, it was the first time that I was able to losing any weight, I felt connected to myself and others, not experiencing the constant panics I suffered from and took no medications for two weeks. On my return to the UK, I started my research in the food people eat and the connection it has with our mental health. I moved from a full page repeat prescriptions to no prescription from my GP and a blood donor in a very short period. I saw children on the streets begging for food and more mentally ill adults than I have ever seen before on the island streets. That ignited my passion I previously had, for working with children and vulnerable adults as I had worked and studied for six years prior. This is where my idea was born for building my own company based on my personal and professional experiences in mental health.
Based on my plans and improvement with psychotherapy, my last therapist in 2015 suggested that I work with the National Health services to help them readjust their services for shorter term treatments in mental health. I found a self development course that trains people to use their own natural abilities to create and build the life that one loves rather than just surviving as most of society does. With this course, within a year, I moved from a self secluded individual who could not function around more than two people to someone talking on stage in front of 350 people I’ve never met. I am now in the final stage of my training as a life coach that will finish in December.
I am in talks with a UK company to use their program in helping 5 children I recently met in Jamaica, to open up and addressing the issues they are facing. I intend to buy and least properties and community centers to run programs that will facilitate self-help and community programs for healing through nature and farming, all areas of art and skill based creative programs that encourages adults and children to gain confidence in themselves and run programs base on what they love and enjoy doing. They will teach each other and run these programs by themselves and with assistance from university students and professionals through volunteering programs run by my charitable incorporated organisation (CIO) Community In Practice with the aim of building independence and self sustainability.
How we work
We gain the trust of individuals for themselves which will help open them up to looking at solutions for them to get back into living their lives instead of being stuck in their pain and the past.
CIP’s aim is to find untraditional ways of helping individuals and can be tailored to promoting self-help, which in turn will build self sustainability both for individuals and communities to be less dependent on charities and governmental aids. These solutions will be guided by our model constitution of our charitable incorporated organisation (CIO). This includes individual creativities, hobbies and skills that are sometimes a source of income for individuals.

We tend to be just going, and for most of us it’s because that’s how we see life, without questioning what we see and why things are the way they are. Ask yourself, how do you know what you know and why do you tend to believe what you know?
I think going about feeling connected and in love with life is being connected, I think being blind and separated from ourselves, disliking most things and people, When we are separated from ourselfs, it’s not possible to be connected with others or the world around us, it leaves us questioning the reason for our life and what it means.
When I turned 18, I decided that life is going to be on my terms and by no means, a standard life. I was going to experience what I wanted only. Do fashion designing, have my own chain of baby nurseries and travel the world.
After testing the work environment and studying at the same time, I saw it was going to take too long in my home country and needed to experience life on the international level. I left at 21 and my passion changed from fashion to computing. I studied computing, worked and trained in adult and child care.
At 24, I got distracted by relationship and a job that was outside of my plan, four years later my body started reacting to my change of pace, which was faster than before. Working full time and overtime, paused my degree and stopped my family and fun connections. When I realised what I got myself into, the shock was too much.
I had lost that connection with even my own body and the gap with my friends and family got wider. That gap saw me getting physically and mentally ill.
Those experiences showed me how people can get broken and ways in which we can be restored and connected again, both with ourselves and others and that it takes more than a nursery and care homes, to care for others in the connected way in which it can be done socially.
Seeing other’s pain and especially children, was how Community In Practice was born.

When we are grounded and centred, we are more able to hold the space for an other, in need.
If we are not, then we leave discomfort and hurt in our foot prints for others to pick up, and then it is not a choice for those who need clarity.
This is because we are all connected vibrationally. We are not separate, our personalities are unique and holds our gift that the world needs. We were not design to stand alone as individuals and we are all powerful beings.
Our only duty is to live our true purpose in life and in doing so, we are able to truly serve others fully with our inborn gifts.
A starting point is to be grounded from within. The food we consume has a big part to play in being grounded and having true self control.
Being coachable and coached is a faster way in getting grounded.
Others see us clearer than we are able to and that is why successful people have coaches to guide them on their paths to success. I am an intuitive life coach and building a community of coaches for better living is what Community In Practice is all about.
